Two at once...

Yesterday, Invanity Jessye Norvan of Vankkadia would have been 9....but sadly, her battle with HCM ended earlier this year but we miss her always. (10/24/99-5/7/08)

Today, Ku Chi would have been 10 but her life, too, was cut short. She lives on in our hearts and was truly a cat with no streak of naughtiness.... We miss her, too! (10/25/98-4/22/03)

Today, Muffy would have been 32 (We've actually heard of cats living even longer than that...). We observe a moment of silence to remember her; she was truly a special cat and will always be missed.

Today, we bid farewell to our friend and comrade Sigil. He had been ill for about 5 months with kidney failure and everyone knew the time had come. The humans told us he went very peacefully and now he not suffering. No more twice-daily needles and feeding tubes and B12 shots and huge Azodyl capsules and too many other drugs to count. May he rest in peace; we will always miss him. But now, he is in the company of Muffy, Ku Chi, and Jessye Norvan, along with countless other cats of our past.

With sadness, we bid farewell to our f-ing b (we say that in a loving way) comrade, Jessye. The only girl in our group and our fearless (but not furless) leader.

At 7:44, she was fine.

At 7:45, she started crying out in pain, uncharacteristically moaning. She tried to walk but her back legs were paralyzed.

One minute later, she was on her way to the vet, where they put her down.

May she rest in peace.

Let us take a moment to observe a moment of silence for our highly esteemed comrade and beloved first cat of humanpacifier, Muffy. She passed away 11 years ago today due to sudden kidney failure. But she lived a good, long life and will always be missed!

17.6 pounds.... But now I have this bump on my neck. Hope it is just a zit (like Dr. P said it might well be) and not cancer. Oliver says cancer is really bad. Well, duh. I know that, Ollie Smartie-Pants. Norvan says it's no big deal 'cuz she's lived through worse. Ambrose told me to quit being so "Emo"....

Yeah, *me*...Emo? Uh huh...sure.... I know what Emo is and I am so *not* Emo.

(I like saying Emo almost as much as Hobbes liked saying smock....)

I came second... I am Invanity Jessye Norvan of Vankkadia. I just went to the vet today and I'm #@$)#()$ ticked about it. Turns out the cardiologist told my vet (But did NOT tell moi!!!!) that I had 6 months to live. That was almost 10 months ago. Good I didn't get the memo?

Okay, I totally don't get it. I've taken a gazillion naps on top of that cat condo. It's comfy but not all that exciting... Now that little human has decided that it's the perfect chair. He climbs up and sits on it like a stepstool or something and just will...not...stop...LAUGHING! Like that condo is the funniest thing in the whole world.

Can I have my napping spot back? Huh?

I'll just go sleep on his bedspread! :-)

But *she* will probably like it if he needs more pills; she acts so persecuted about it 'cuz she has to take 4 or 5 pills at once... Well, if she would just quit fighting it and take the stupid pills, it might not be so bad.... Squat always takes *his* pills....

He's back on prednisone but at least the wheezing has subsided. Vet said it's heart worms; apparently, they can't do much except long-term prednisone treatment. Hopefully, it isn't fatal 'cuz Squat is cool. He doesn't bug me like SHE does.... (That f-ing b....)

This morning, she took her four pills at once and OOOWEEEE was she mad!

I'm lucky; I only had to go to the vet once for my checkup...that Fatarse, I mean Nep, is having his ears cleaned today. He meowed most of the night just because he had to be fasting. I mean, come on, there's plenty of fat on him to survive and it's just a few hours.

But the humans are gonna swab Norvan's cheeks this weekend for a big Turkish Van DNA profiling project. Apparently, a bunch of them have died from cardiomyopathy (the condition she has now; considering she's usually heartless, I gotta know why she needs heart meds). Everyone on the Turkish Van mailing list is sharing their "swab stories", hahaha. Those cats are all the same; it's funny! We should videotape the swabbing and post on YouTube; we'll be famous for 15 minutes. Well, she will be. Oh, wait. She already had her 15+ minutes by being in Cat Fancy...never mind.

Oh, this is cool; the humans found the old sticker with my name on it and the number of the animal hospital in NC, way back from my kitten days. It's now attached to humanpacifier's laptop. Haha...her laptop is now mine; it says "Oliver Lucius"! That makes it mine, right?

Norvan must be contagious....

I went to the vet today...Dr. P said I have an intermittent heart murmur. She told Mom that they'll check it next year but I might have to see a cardiologist. Yikes... I see them pilling her...I don't want that! I don't even have claws to fight them off. They're shoving 5 pills at a time into her.

Ambrose said pills aren't that bad but he only took them for a week and it was ONE pill at a time so what does he know? Neptune was too busy sitting in the sink to talk to me and Sigil got mad when I warned him that his turn at the vet is next week (I overheard Mom talking about the upcoming appointment.).

Norvan just told me that karma's a b****and that I deserve it for picking on her so much.... (Yeah, karma's a b**** and so is SHE!!!!!)

Ugh...

Well, I'm free for a year, at least, and no dental cleaning this time!

So I had this emergency trip to the vet...

The humans came home tonight and I was just eating my dinner and then they start freaking out because I had this cut on my ear. I don't think it's *that* bad but next thing I know, they shove me in a carrier and I'm taken to the vet. I'm still mad about where they put the thermometer.... Then they took me in a room and had me inhale something and I don't know what happened after that but then I went home. I feel hung over.... Norvan says they're gonna pill me. I told her everyone at the vet's office knows who *she* is and they all think she's an f-ing b.... Oliver says the cut isn't his fault 'cuz he doesn't have any claws. Neptune's just fat... So it must have been...Sigil.

They stuck me in the storage room formerly called D's room but I know how to hack into the network...hahaha.

Berkeley and Cassie are here; I bet she's going to kick Oliver's furry behind because she's still mad at him for cheating with Jianna....

This actually happened yesterday so no, it isn't a joke. That f-ing b was in the window sill and tried to leave but got caught on the cord and it ended up around her waist. The end result? A pair of dangling "pants" and one very stuck f-ing b. It looked like she was cut off in the middle or had hung herself or something. Then idragosani tried to assist her and she scratched him.

F-ing b....

Heheh...she's gotta be pilled...

A moment of silence for our friend and occasionally visiting comrade.... Pebbles' life ended yesterday morning after she went into renal failure. Her life was a long one and she will be missed. No cat could stare like she could.... She is survived by Sassy and her adopted human.
